1,2 ……too many

I have lot of stories to tell, half of them are due to my bad decisions😂. I am good as a planner, but ask me to make a decision instantly and you get to see my stupid inner self in all her glory. This spontaneous stupidity has however led me to some nice quick trips and crazy photos, but has also brought glitches in friendships and sometimes a heavy head. I have however realised that understanding oneself, is a very important thing to do in our 20s: what we do wrong, what precautions to take, figuring out patterns in our behaviour, what sort of people we like, what habits suit us- from food, drinks and sleep schedule to the sort of working space we find healthy; a self-tailored life. These bad decisions or just decisions which will seem stupid later are all the part of that journey. Most of the times when I have just made some important decision I always get this image in my mind where Tom looks into the mirror and sees a donkey.

However overtime I have picked up a few tips:

1. From TVF Pitchers [web series]: when you are confused between two options, flip a coin, when the coin is in midair, you will actually realise towards which one you are skewed. This is not the follow your heart, don’t use your brains theory, its just that our subconscious knows our defence mechanisms and thoughts better, and that provides us the instinct or gut feeling.

2. Spend a minute more than you would. In every action that needs small decisions, one minute more and you will add something that you would otherwise miss. My Medicine professor had taught me this, saying when you go for pre-rounds to add notes and check on the patients, spend one minute extra and you will give a better advice or pick up that finding that you had failed to notice.
