New normal?
In this pandemic and all that's going around we have realised how important the integrity of the system is. There is a new found respect for the roles of defence, hospitals, and the financial setup; but at the same time for how important it is to know ourselves as individuals, separate from the system.
Sure, the human mind is a curious, mysterious being in itself, is also like a child you can't trust to be left alone for too long.
Things have changed a lot, the new normal may be abnormal for many for quite sometime.
Maybe Pandora's box did open, so all we are left with is hope...🤞
We have known of our loved ones admitted and getting critical but couldn’t visit, because of the practicality of the greater good. Right now keeping as many safe is more important, because ignorance prevails at multiple levels so we can’t possibly be sure that containment is being followed, so not getting infected is as important as not spreading it. It baffles me how people are hesitant to get vaccinated, to report symptoms, to get tested and are non compliant with the medication; its been 15 months we have been in the roller coaster course of this pandemic and yet, this audacity of ignorance. As the ‘common man’ in a movie once said, “we are resilient by force, not by choice”, we needed a pandemic to shine light on ignorance and that we value short term goals more than investing more in friends, family and those feel-good interactions with people we cross paths with everyday.
Post pandemic all non COVID cases are gonna flood the hospitals; without proper follow ups, we don’t know what to expect. Post COVID sequelae and mental health issues are gonna be an everyday encounter for quite some years.Jobs being lost, health getting worse, staying locked up….it all sucks, yet every single person needs to make their peace with the prevailing conditions, not for anyone else but just for ourselves, to survive.
