In the eye of the storm

Picture this: It’s a windy evening, you know it's raining somewhere ’cause you can smell it. The skies are a dull orange, everything in your visual field has turned to sepia tone. Your curtains are flying , the pages of the book that you have kept open are flipping crazily. It’s a dry, cold wind, now almost howling. You aren’t particularly in your best spirits, the neighbourhood is pretty empty as if they had been notified beforehand of this storm that’s looming over. The backward door is banging, a vase gets toppled over by the dancing curtains in your room. You slowly walk and latch the front door, then one by one proceed to shut all doors and windows. Leaves and random things on the road are flying outside the kitchen window, you keep the tea pot to heat, pick your favourite earl grey tea bag from your collection, get the vintage floral mug out. The wind is howling so damn loud, something thuds at the door, you seem to be in a daze. It’s gotten very dark and now it is lightening and thundering, you unplug all electrical devices, take your tea and sit on tall backed chair in the living room, move the pile of fiction novels and set down the laptop to watch ‘the Big Bang theory’, and set an alarm for 20 min later, reminding you to get back to study.

😅this is how I am feeling today, suppressing so many thoughts- right now they are too overpowering and neither do I have the time. Hoping for this storm to pass away like everything else and I will deal with the aftermath.
