Fear
Oh sweet summer child it's your first winter
Your eyes are sparking looking at the little clouds forming when you speak
You have been so fascinated with the snowflakes settling on your nose
That you didn't realise the frost driving rivets into your back.
You dwell on the freezing lake
While your little toes turn blue
Haha!
Once more life has managed to skillfully distract a soul enough to a point of doom.
This year when the spring comes,
I see you question every flower for its purity before sniffing
There's no one anymore to chit chat with the puppies
And worst, you keep you sweater hung on the wall,
All through summer because you don't trust the weather anymore either.
This winter is different
I see you stay indoors by the fire
The aurora borealis out there has put on a show,
But you would rather watch the cackling fire and guard yourself.
